  3. Mae Jemison is….. Mae Jemison is an American physician and NASA astronaut. First black women to travel in Space. Went to orbit on September 12, 1992 in 7 days ,22 hours, and 30 minutes.

  4. Mae Jemison’s Biology Mae Jemison was born on October 17,1956 in Decatur, Alabama her current age is 57. Her birth name is Mae Carol Jemison Her education took place in Morgan Park High, Stanford University, and Cornell

  6. Mae Jemison’s Summary Mae Jemison is famous because she was the first black woman to travel into space . Mae Jemison is also famous because she was a doctor who helped sick people. I think that we should all love her because she can help you if you sick.

  7. Mae Jemison’s Accomplishment Mae Jemison accomplished many things in her life. She studied what she wanted to be ( a doctor and a space astronaut). Mae Jemison wants to inspire us that once you put pride in it you can accomplish it.

Interesting Fact about Mae Jemison Astronaut Mae Jemison became the first African-American woman to enter space when she served on the crew of the Space Shuttle Endeavor in September 1992 Jemison joined the Peace Corps, serving as its area medical officer from 1983 to 1985 in the West African countries of Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Bibliography Dr. Jemison’s remarkable life, in addition to being a doctor, engineer, academic, and entrepreneur includes six years with NASA as an astronaut during which she became the first woman of color in the world to go into space. Dr. Jemison is a member of the National Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Medicine, an inductee of National Women’s Hall of Fame and the National Medical Association Hall of Fame, and winner of the Kilby Science Award Dr. Jemison graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and completed the requirements for an A.B. in African and Afro-American studies from Stanford University and earned her M.D. from Cornell University Medical College
