  2. Basic Steps基本步驟 • Set clear goals and objectives 定立明確目標 • Start with your family and relatives 由家庭成員及近親開始 • Living Memories (Oral History) 仍活着親人的憶述 • Get organized and construct your family tree 將資料整理及構成家庭樹 (世系表)及編寫家庭 歷史

  3. Genealogy is about dates, lineage, and family activities and history家譜不僅是日期及世系，它也包括家庭歷史及家庭活動

What do you need to know?你需要知道甚麼? • Names of parents, grandparents, and great grandparents (as far back as you can tell) 你的父毋，祖父毋 及 曾祖父母的名字 (越多代祖先的 名字越好) • Any information pertaining to your ancestry (birth date, death date, marriage date) 任何有關祖先的資料 (出生日期，死亡日期，結婚日期) • Home village, town, county, city, and province 祖籍屬於那條村，鎮，縣，市 及 省
