Strategy and Agenda The AfDB Capacity Development Strategy (CDS) for 2010-2015 is the key to the attainment of inclusive growth in Africa. Works through: Pillar I – Enhance Development Effectiveness of Bank’s Operations. Pillar II – Strengthen Capacity for Policy Design and Implementation and Dialogue. Pillar III – Build the Bank’s Internal Capacity.
The African Development Institute Vision To be regarded by Bank Staff and Stakeholders as the leading capacity development partner in Africa. Mission To innovatively engage in capacity development, training and knowledge dissemination in Africa, with emphasis on inclusive growth and green economy.
EADI on Inclusive Growth in Africa: 5 themes • Innovative methods of financing infrastructure and regional integration to achieve green economy. • Start-ups, entrepreneurship and youth employment for inclusive growth. • Public-Private Partnerships. • Tool Kits for financial management, disbursement, Procurement and Project/Programme Implementation. • Macro-economic Policy Modelling & Forecasting.

Implementation of the CDS For the successful implementation of the CDS, it is estimated that USD 15 million is needed, constituting USD 7.5 million a year for the two-year completion of the CDS. Idea: Set up a Capacity Development Trust Fund
