Our Mission • Bring together African governments, development partners and the private sector to unleash the potential of African financial sectors Our Objectives • Improve coordination of Financial Sector Development (FSD) activities among donors • Improve access to information and knowledge sharing on FSD issues • Promote country and region-led FSD projects • Build FSD awareness

Examples of Achievements (1) Donor Coordination and StakeholderOutreach • Joint AU/MFW4A document « Advancing the African Microfinance Sector » endorsed by Council of MoF 12/09, presented to Heads of State AU (02/01) • MFW4A Book II Project, undertaken by AfDB, GTZ and World Bank , following MFW4A Partnership Retreat 10/09 • Identified potential joint interventions and follow up diagnostic work following Financial Capability Forum (09/09) and Regional Financial Integration Workshop (12/09) • Established « thematic » Donor Working Groups in Remittances and Access to Finance • Donor Mapping of FSD interventions (over 600 projects catalogued)

Examples of Achievements (2) Knowledge Management and Dissemination • Partnership website to go live next month • Knowledge hub: divided into themes encompassing studies, diagnostics, publications and documents on FSD with links to relevant partner and country authorities’ websites • Country hub: financial sector profiles for all 53 countries with a set of key FSD indicators and links to country authorities • Partnership news section: original news content on themes relevant to MFW4A’s work • Tailored Newsfeed service: a selection of focused news materials produced by African and international news agencies • A blog: the Africa Finance Forum where prominent African and non regional financial sector specialists discuss financial sector issues
