  4. GOP State Committee Party Chair/Co Chair Vice Chairs Other Officers Regular Members Deputy Chairs National Committeeman and Woman Congressional District Members Standing Committees County Chairs as Ex-Officio Members Non-Voting Members

GOP State Committee Party Chair/Co Chair Elected at State Convention Chair/Co-Chair of opposite sex Party Chair Responsibilities Preside at all meetings, sign all contracts, submit reports, appoint and hire such employees as necessary Ex-officio member of all committees Co-Chair Responsibilities Perform Chair duties in the absence of the Chair

  6. GOP State Committee Vice Chairs Elected at State Convention Administration Youth Outreach Ethnic Coalitions Grassroots

  7. GOP State Committee Administration Vice Chair Ex-officio of all committees Supervise and direct all activities relating to conventions, candidate events and conferences

  8. GOP State Committee Youth Vice Chair – not yet 25 when elected Responsibilities Ex-officio of all committees Supervise and direct all youth activities of the Party

GOP State Committee Outreach Vice Chair Responsibilities Ex-officio of all committees Supervise and direct all activities necessary to deliver the Republican message Media, Letters to the Editor, Cable access, Internet, assisting candidates with editorial boards, endorsements and speaking opportunities

  10. GOP State Committee Ethnic Vice Chair Responsibilities Ex-officio of all committees Supervise and Direct all ethnic activities designed to attract citizens of every race, color, creed and nationality to the GOP

  11. GOP State Committee Coalition Vice Chair Responsibilities Ex-officio of all committees Supervise and direct all coalition building activities relating to senior citizens, women, union members, blue collar workers, white collar workers, professionals, small businessmen, farmers, sportsmen, conservationists and any other such groups

  12. GOP State Committee Grassroots Vice Chair Responsibilities Ex-officio of all committees Shall supervise and direct all activities relating to Precinct Delegates, recruitment, voter registration, volunteers and GOTV.

  13. GOP State Committee Other Officers – selected by Committee Members Secretary Treasurer General Counsel Finance Chairman

  14. GOP State Committee Three Types of Members Regular Members Ex-Officio Members Non-Voting Members

  15. GOP State Committee Regular Members Elected at District Caucus Seven Members from each District One member is the District Chairman No more than 4 of the 7 can be the same sex 6th District allocation plan Total of 105 Regular members – 15 Districts x 7

GOP State Committee Ex-officio Members – non-voting If Republican Governor, SOS, AG, a US Senator, a US House Rep, a State Senator, a State Rep, Chairman of each County Executive Committee Non-voting Members Seven members Michigan Women’s Federation, Michigan Federation of Young Republicans, Federation of Teenage Republicans, Federation of College Republicans, Black Republican Council, Republican Nationalities Council and National Hispanic Assembly of Michigan

  17. GOP State Committee National Committeemen/women Elected at State Convention Represent the MIGOP the Republican National Committee

GOP State Committee Standing Committees Populated from the State Committee Policy Committee – one Regular Member per District Recommend Party policy and establish programs for implementation Budget Committee –one Regular Member per District Budget control, approve spending and provide fiscal policy Issues Committee – one Regular Member per District plus ex-officio members from Gov – State Rep Research, study and evaluate issue position for consideration

State Convention Agenda Saturday, January 29th, 2011 7:00 – 10:00 am: Registration 8:30 am: General Session Begins All Saturday registration and convention business will take place in Exhibit Halls A, B, and C at DeVos Place. PURPOSE: To elect the eight (8) leadership positions within the Michigan Republican State Committee, receive the reports of the 15 Congressional District Caucuses and any other business as may properly come before the State Convention.
