  2. Peace Wapiti School Board employs around 1,000 people. encompasses 23,000 square kilometers. serves approximately 5,500 students in 29 schools. has the third largest rural transportation system in Alberta, covering 18,000 kilometers per day.

  3. Community Demographics Median Age Alberta is 36 • Eaglesham (Birch Hills County) 41.9 • Sexsmith 27.6 • Education 15 years or older. • Median Income all Families • Alberta-$73,823 • Eaglesham-$53,871 • Sexsmith-$74,166

  4. Workforce • Ninety teachers over the age of fifty. Majority female teachers. Thanks to Ab Ed for chart.

  5. Accountibility issues in Zone One In Alberta, Zone One has more issues/concerns rating on the pillar than any other zone.

  6. ISSUES for PWSD • Geography - size of Wales • Small schools limit opportunity to collaborate • Communities in rapid growth and decline • Community profiles • Northern location limits access to services • Aging workforce/access to specialty teachers • Achievement-PATS and DIPS in Zone One

Timeline for Planning • Oct 31- General Parent Council Meeting- provide overview of Three Year Plan and AISI • Nov- Dec- School Council Discussions- Discussion includes-Does the Accountability Pillar Indentify our issues? What can the school, district, community, families do to address the issues? What should we do • Mid January- Summarize responses • Feb-March-PLC planning-strategy selection etc. • April-May Three Year Plan and AISI Plan development • May Presentation to Board
