General Characteristics • One pair of antennae. • Respiration is through tubes called tracheae. • All appendages are uniramous. • Mostly terrestrial or aerial- some aquatic forms. • Chitinous exoskeleton with waxy cuticle.
Class Chilopoda • Predatory. • Centipedes possess maxillipeds complete with poison fangs to subdue prey.
