In today's reading from Joshua 1:1-6, we explore the profound theme of hope, or "Tikvah," in the face of adversity. For those who mourn, there is comfort; for the persecuted, there is justice; and for the guilty, forgiveness awaits. Drawing on the inspiring example of Jesus, who offered hope to a dying thief and assured His disciples of His return, we are reminded that true hope comes from trusting in the Lord. As Isaiah promises, those who hope in Him will renew their strength, empowering us to withstand life's challenges.

Tikvah תִּקְוָה “teek-VAH” “They that wait” “making a tool capable of holding a heavy load securely”
For those who mourn, there’s hope for comfort. For the persecuted, there’s hope for justice. For the guilty, there’s hope of forgiveness. Jesus gave hope to a powerless thief on the cross. He became hope when He arose from the dead. He breathed hope into his disciples by assuring them of His promised return and of the Holy Spirit’s comforting.
