  2. Hard Drive disc • 1960 • Stores and retrieves digital data from a planar magnetic surface. It changed what we did then by giving us a secondary storage unit to store things rather than on the computer alone.

  3. Bubble Memory • 1970 • Uses a thin film of magnetic material to hold small magnetized areas known as bubbles which each store one bit of data. It changed the way we did things back then by having easier way to do maintenance since it didn’t move or shock proofing reasons.

  4. Floppy Disk • 1980 • Stored 80 kilobytes and were designed for loading microcode’s into the controller of the Merlin disk pack file. It changed what we did by being able to send out updates to customers.

  5. DAT1987 • D.A.T or digital audio tape is a signal recording and playback medium introduced in 1987. It changed how people could report or take evidence for certain things.

  6. Zip disk1994 The Zip was a medium capacity removable disk storage system introduced by Iomega in late 1994. Changed how we were able to write protection software instead of enforcing it with mechanical messages

  7. DVD1995 • DVD was the new generation of optical disc storage technology. It was bigger faster CD that could hold cinema like videos. Changed the way we could watch movies.

  8. USB Flash drive2001 The USB drive is a flash memory integrated with a USB interface small lightweight removable data storage device. Changed the size of memory storage units dramatically by reducing the size of the storage.

  9. Blue-ray Disc2004 • Blue Ray Disc, the next generation optical disc format meant for high quality videos. High density data storage and is one of two competing standards. Changed the amount of memory held on disc to 25gb or over two hours of HD video plus audio.
