BJP rally against price rise in Delhi today New Delhi: On 21 April,2010 Tens of thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers are to assemble for a massive protest rally against price rise in New Delhi today. Party leaders plan a march to Parliament with around 10 lakh supporters. BJP is also expected to bring a cut-motion on the Union Budget seeking a special vote on the Budget for this financial year and will demand a rollback in petroleum and fertiliser price hikes.
Rising inflation has put the UPA government on the back foot, forcing it to defer key economic reforms, including market-determined fuel prices. Party workers from different states are to participate in the rally. Trains and buses have specially been deployed to bring them to New Delhi. The entry of almost 6oo buses in the Capital today from various borders is most likely to throw the city's traffic out of gear. The rally would begin from Ram Lila ground and culminate at Jantar Mantar. Even though the Delhi police is now claiming that adequate arrangements have been made and 300 traffic personnel specifically been designated to clear out the traffic, considering today to be a working day, people will be facing some problems in terms of traffic while driving to work.
