  2. Sports Training Academy Overview • Student-Athlete enrichment program • 24/7 life coaching and mentor support • Learn the College Recruiting Process • Prepare for life before, during, after college • Academic & Athletic training program • Weekly themes based on popular college majors

Issues Addressed • No education or sports program for student-athletes • Graduation rate at 34% - Goal is 75% in 4 years • Traditional sports camps have 50 ppl per group • Sports injuries from lack of proper sports training • Demands of applying to college takes weeks/months • Preparing for SAT/ACT should lead up to test • Stay off the streets – Positive, friendly environment

Sports Training Academy Principles Educate • Learn about a variety of career fields and popular college majors • Assignments given will prepare you for imposed demands of college life Enlighten • Learn what college coaches are looking for when recruiting for scholarships • There are more ways to become a pro in the sports industry with various careers Encourage • Positive words from instructors, counselors, and coaches at all times • Obtain knowledge about colleges to make a well-informed decision Empower • Take control of your own destiny without fear of failure • Sustain “Academic Integrity” to improve your opportunities for scholarships

Prospective Student-Athletes • Must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average • In good standing in grades 7 – 12, boys / girls • Currently on any sports team roster • Parental Information must be completed • Complete the 8-week enrichment program • Attend all academic and athletic training sessions

Student-Athlete Expectations • Be prepared to work on and off the field • Complete daily reports and weekly assignments • Actively participate in group sessions and events • Attend community service events and projects • Include parents in all daily activities • Graduate from high school and goto and college

Parental Expectations • Be involved in all of your children’s activities • Make sure that your child has transportation • Plan, prepare, & cook meals at home 5 days/week • Attend your child’s presentation day on career day • Actively participate in college recruiting process • Volunteer at community service projects

  9. Academic Performance • Weekly enrichment themes from college majors • No unexcused absences from any sessions • Complete daily/weekly assignments given • Take College Admission Testing in Fall – junior year • Certificate of Completion and graduation • College letters of recommendation sent

Athletic Performance • Be on time to all training sessions and dressed • In uniform at all times in class and on the field • Daily training on Speed – Agility – Quickness • All Strength & Conditioning rules obeyed • Bio feedback given to all trainers/coaches • Must give 150% in all training drills & exercises

  11. Academy Program Dates Fall Sports Student-Athletes June 22nd – August 14th Sports such as: Football Tennis Soccer Golf Winter Sports Student-Athletes July 6th – August 28th Sports such as: Basketball Wrestling Lacrosse Field Hockey

  12. Typical Daily Schedule

Application Process • Referred by a sports team coach via email/phone • Complete a prospective student-athlete application • Submit application prior to the May deadline • Attend a group interview with other applicants • If eligible, schedule a one-on-one interview • When selected, receive a welcome packet of info.

Academy Highlights • Similar ambitions, goals, and setting with peers • Instructed by former collegiate student-athletes • Weekly guest speakers from professional fields • Skills on career, leadership, character, and life • Research self-selected Top 75 colleges to attend • “Importance of Education & Impact of Sports”
