Homeroom Schedule • 8:00-8:10 Move to homeroom • Tardy bell at 8:10 (3 “unacceptable” tardies=detention) • 8:10-Bell rings • Organizational time • Organize binders and materials • Check for needed assignments for the day • Visit teachers as needed • 8:10-8:20 Channel One • 8:20-8:26 Morning announcements • (Announcements can be found on the CMS Homepage – updated daily)

  6. What happens during homeroom? • Attendance • Notes from home collected • Channel One • Errands (library, computer lab, purchases…) • AR tests may be taken • Announcements (A/B day, Activity vs. Academic, rehearsals, clubs…)

Student Absences • Homeroom teacher keeps excuses • Due day of return • 3 days to turn in absentee excuse to homeroom teacher • Absence becomes “illegal” after 3 days without excuse • Students see teachers for missed work • If absent multiple days, call the school homework hotline 412-369-5454

Activity Period Activity Periods usually take place two times per week, Wednesday and Thursday Silent Study Hall for those in homeroom Group rehearsals, organizational meetings and assemblies may take place Homework help from team teachers ***If leaving homeroom during activity period for any reason, students sign in and out.
