  3. Greetings! Welcome to Open House

  4. Rules/Home Learning Policy School Rules Home Learning Policy Home Learning is assigned everyday and counted as part of the student’s grade. Reading for 30 minutes a day is a mandatory district policy. • Be in your seat and ready to begin when the bell rings. • Remain in your assigned seat unless authorized to do otherwise. • Do not use profane, abusive, or derogatory language. • Follow directions the first time they are given. • Keep your body parts and belongings to yourself. • Show respect and common decency at all times. • Remain silent while any instructional activity is taking place. • Do not chew gum on school property . • Follow the school uniform policy. • Follow the rules of a straight line. • Cell phones turned off and in book bags.

  5. Lunch/Cafeteria • Parents, please do not pack sodas in your child’s lunch box. • Aluminum cans and glass are not permitted. • Please speak to your child about appropriate cafeteria behavior.

  6. Attendance • School begins promptly at 8:35am, students should not be late. • Dismissal is at 3:05pm every day, EXCEPT on Wednesdays (1:50pm). • Parents please drop your child off at the cafeteria entrance. • Dismissal procedures: Parent pick up is at 3:05pm in the PE shelter, except Wednesdays (1:50pm). On rainy days you are allowed to enter the building to pick your child up.

  7. Uniforms • Mandatory uniforms • Shirts: Royal blue/ Gold • Pants/Shorts/Skirts: Khaki/ Navy Blue • Girls need to wear socks and sneakers

  8. Objectives/Upcoming Events 1. Testing – Students will be tested several times this year. a. FAIR – three times a year b. SRI (scholastic reading inventory): Fall and Spring c. Baseline and Interim Assessment (Math, Reading, Science): Fall, Winter and Spring d. FCAT:Reading, Math, and Science: April 22nd- May 1st, 2014 2. Field trips – TBA 3. Activities: Science Fair – December 2013

  9. Conferences If you need to schedule a parent conference please call 305-681-4611 to schedule an appointment.
