Rock.IT.2007: Combining Music, Web 2.0, and Videoconferencing in UK and European Schools

This project aims to facilitate collaboration among educational institutions through the use of Web 2.0 tools and videoconferencing, allowing students and educators to connect and share resources. The prototype service will provide features such as member profiles, collaboration opportunities, and personal groups. The project timeline includes prototype testing and development, with a planned launch in summer 2007.

JANET Collaboration Service The aim of the Collaboration Service is to enable those in education to find • others with similar educational interests, leading to educational collaboration; • opportunities for collaboration, especially live educational content being delivered by videoconference; • associated educational resources, e.g. best practice, projects, lesson plans.   12. Prototype A prototype will provide a focus for piloting and discussion. If the prototype is successful this could lead to the specification, funding and development of a full production service. Scope The prototype will be available to educators, researchers and support staff in schools, colleges and universities in the UK and overseas, as well as content providers.
