  1. Lesson 5:Using Case Tracking Dynamic View

  2. Understanding Dynamic View SurgiNet Case Tracking Dynamic View is used for day-of surgical board management. It supplements the Case Tracking system by providing a graphical representation of case tracking information.

  4. Understanding Case Borders & Milestones Case Borders and Milestones appear on surgical cases in Dynamic View in order for you to quickly determine the status of a case.

  5. Understanding Case Borders & Milestones Case Border information is relevant to the timing of a surgical case (i.e. if a case is later than scheduled, earlier than scheduled, etc.). Milestone information is relevant to the status of the surgical case (i.e. if the surgery has started, if the surgery has ended, etc.). To understand the status of a case, simply look at the case border and milestone. In the example shown right, the case has started and ended, indicated by the orange / dark orange milestones. In addition, the duration of the case was changed from how it was scheduled, indicated by the pink case border.

  6. Viewing Case Details You can view scheduling, case, and set event information of a case from Dynamic View. To view case details, complete the following steps: • In Dynamic View, select the case you want to view. Click Case Details. The Case Details window opens. • When you have finished viewing case information, click OK to close the window. Surgical Case procedure information will be displayed here. Surgical Case scheduling information will be displayed here. Events can be set from the Case Details window by selecting the applicable event. Events documented for the patient will be displayed here.

  7. Setting Events in Dynamic View Events can also be set in Dynamic View. To set an event in Dynamic View, complete the following steps: • Open Dynamic view. • Locate the case you want to set events for and select it by clicking on it. Then, select Case Details from the toolbar.

  8. The Case Details Window will display.

  9. Select events for the case by selecting the event categories on the far left. Choose the events by clicking the event buttons. • When finished, click OK to close the Case Details window.

  10. Event Setting for OR Times (Patient In, Patient Out, Surgery Start, etc.) should occur through IntraOperative Documentation. In Dynamic View, only resources (rooms) that have cases scheduled appear. Other resources do not populate on the schedule. The ability to view and set events is based on your security. Some functions, including toolbar options, may be grayed out if the function is not available to you or not applicable to the task that you are performing. Dynamic View Tips and Tricks
