International team • Slovenia has qualified two times for the World Championship and once for the European Championship. • Slovenia never made it out of the group stage. • The Netherlands have almost every time qualified for the World Championship and the Europa Championship. • The Netherlands have reached the final of the World Championship three times and once won the Europa Championship.

Football clubs • The Dutch clubs are more successful than the Slovenian clubs, because they compete on the European level. • PSV and Feyenoord have won the Europa Cup once and AJAX has won it three times. • FC Maribor is the only Slovenian club that has ever qualified for the Champions League.

The interviews • We interviewed Brahim Darri, a player of Vitesse, and Matjaž Jakopič, the coach of the Slovenian club NK Bravo • Their answers were very similar, except for one answer • Brahim Darri thinks it‘s better for an ambitious player to play often for a small club • Matjaž Jakopič thinks it‘s better for an ambitious player to play rarely for a big club • The conclusion of both interviews is that the world of football is all about money

The conclusion • As shown by the statistics football is played at a higher quality level in the Netherlands, because 10 of the 21 players from the Dutch squad play in the Eredivisie an only 3 of the 21 players of the Slovenian squad play in the 1. Slovenian League • But in Slovenia it is easier to become a professional football player. If you succeed in Holland as a professional football player you will get a better salary and a better future in football.
