  3. The half-hour Just add “…y media”. Es la una y media. (1:30) Son las dos y media. (2:30) Son lascinco y media. (5:30)

  4. Minutes (1st half of hour) Just add the number of minutes. Es la una y cinco. (1:05) Son las dos y veinte. (2:20) Son lascinco y veinticuatro. (5:24) Son lasocho y trece. (8:13)

  5. Minutes (2nd half of hour) There are two ways. Here is one: You go to the next hour and subtract minutes. Son lascuatromenosdiez. (3:50) Son las once menos quince. (10:45) Son lasnuevemenosveinte. (8:40) So, it’s kind of like saying, ten minutes to four, fifteen minutes to eleven, or twenty minutes to nine.

  6. Minutes (2nd half of hour) Here is another way, much easier: Just add the minutes. Son lastres y cincuenta. (3:50) Son lasdiez y cuarenta y cinco. (10:45) Son lasocho y cuarenta. (8:40) That’s easier, isn’t it?
