Instruction and materials provided free of charge Delivered in a hands-on, face-to-face environment Aligned to state and national standards, as well as NCLB Unit plans created for immediate use in the classroom Helps teachers learn to integrate technology seamlessly and appropriately into curriculum they already use Option to earn and purchase university academic credit Course Benefits

    4. Train-the-trainer model: Local Education Agency applies online to get their teachers involved in one or both offerings Local Education Agency selects candidate(s) to be Master Teacher Master Teacher attends the 40-hour course to become certified Each Master Teacher trains a minimum of 10 Participant Teachers from their school or district within 1 year How it Works

Intel® Teach to the Future Workshop on Teaching Thinking with Technology Focus – Enhances effective technology integration skills and uses free online tools to support students’ higher-order thinking skills Length – 24- to 40-hours Outcomes – Teachers create a fully- developed unit plan, aligned to standards, that incorporates: Curriculum-Framing Questions Detailed instructional strategies An online thinking tool project ready for classroom implementation Assessment plan and tools

    6. Visual Ranking Tool A tool for prioritizing and comparing lists Students use this tool to: Evaluate and prioritize information Collaborate with peers Study multiple perspectives Make decisions through consensus or negotiation

    7. Seeing Reason Tool A tool for investigating cause-and-effect relationships Students use this tool to: Represent, discuss, and defend their interpretations Use mathematical and scientific reasoning across the curriculum

    8. Showing Evidence Tool A tool for building well-structured arguments Students use this tool to: Make claims Support positions with evidence Debate differences Reach conclusions

    9. Workshop Model Workshop for Master Teachers Comprehensive 40 hours, covers all three thinking tools Certifies Master Teacher to deliver workshop to colleagues (Participant Teachers) Workshop for Participant Teachers Modular and flexible Master Teachers select modules to offer to PTs, depending on local needs 24- to 40- hours, may cover 1-3 thinking tools

Intel® Teach to the Future Leadership Forum Focus – Help instructional leaders effectively integrate technology into the classroom Length – 4-hours Outcomes – Leaders engage with peers to: Explore and prioritize leadership behaviors that help integrate technology into teaching and learning Analyze national technology standards for administrators Begin development of a personalized action plan

Interested participants: View scheduled forums online or apply to host a forum for leaders in their schools or district Register online to attend a forum Attend and participate in the 4-hour face-to-face forum Participants must be K-12 instructional leaders (principals, curriculum or technology directors, or district administrators), with basic computer skills. Participants should have knowledge of their district’s technology and professional development plan How it Works
