  3. Visitation Day • Listen to the advisors and tour guides • Don’t get worried! • Get to know the school • Choose a good tour group

  4. First Day Jitters • There will be another tour of the school • Get to know the teachers • If possible, make one new acquaintance • Take your time • The teachers are lenient

  5. Teachers • Different for each subject • Different expectations • Very lenient the first few weeks • Adapt to each teacher

  6. Activities and clubs • Music • Band • Chorus • Orchestra/ String Ensemble • Student Council • Intramurals • L-Tag • S.A.D.D

  7. School Work • Pay attention in class • Finish everything assignment given in class • Go to clinic, for more understanding • Take guesses, some could be correct • Don’t fall behind

  8. Homework • Sometimes you can finish in class, for that night • Don’t rely on RA (Resource Activity) • It is HOME work, not SCHOOL work • Don’t wait until last minute to ask questions

  9. Tests and Quizzes • NOT elementary school, much harder • Have to STUDY! • Understand everything • Move quickly

  10. Making Friends • Much easier than thought • Make many friends • Can help with your understanding • Don’t have to be popular • Be comfortable with your friends

  11. In Between Classes • 3 minutes • Feels much longer • Don’t go to your locker between every class • Don’t stop for a few minutes in the hall

  12. Lunch • Eat with the same 8th grade team everyday • Great food • 3 Lines • Hot lunch • Sandwiches • Pizza

  13. Lockers • Learn quickly how to open • DON’T Rig your lockers • DON’T use them between each class • Keep it organized • Save your combination
