  3. Women can hold up half of the sky. A Chinese saying goes:

  4. Leading-in A debate: Women are able to do more than men? Girls are pros: Women are able to do more than men. Boys are cons: Men are able to do more than women. As men are able to do what they can, so are women; no one can do more than the other in everything.

  6. She married Dr Sun Zhongshan in 1915. She was vice-president of the People’s Republic for many years. She busied herself with welfare (福利)activities. She was a patriot and internationalist. Song Qingling (1893-1981)

  7. She was born in Poland. She discovered radium and radioactive materials. In 1911 she received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. Madame Curie (1867-1934)

  8. She was born in the USA but grew up in Zhejiang Province after her parents moved to China in 1895. In 1931 she wrote her best-known novel, The Good Earth. She won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Pearl S.Buck (1892-1973)

  9. She was a world-famous Catholic nun(修女). From the age of 18 she worked in India to help the poor. For more than 30 years she took care of people who were mentally or physically disabled (残疾).
