Colossians 3:22-25 “22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh: not with eye-service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God. 23And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men. 24Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. 25But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” Scripture
Servants, obey in ALL things your masters according to the flesh: Note: the similarity in language to Paul’s instruction to children. Command
POINT ONE Even the most servile work becomes ministry and an act of worship when it is done to please God rather than the boss.
Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men. Command
POINT TWO Work has purpose and becomes worship when it is from the heart (soul) and done to the glory of God even when it is work no one else wants to do.
Colossians 3:24 “24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Scripture
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: Promise
POINT THREE God wants all to have an inheritance but not all will inherit from God.
Colossians 3:25 “25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.” Scripture
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: Promise
POINT FOUR God doesn’t care who you are – there are consequences for your actions.
Colossians 4:1 “1 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.” Scripture
Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; Command
POINT FIVE Everyone has a Master even the boss – your boss will function in light of who God is in their life.
CONCLUSION See you next Sunday! Come forward if you need any prayer or assistance.
