MOGE Responsibilities • To explore and produce oil and gas in onshore area by using its own resources, • To supply the domestic natural gas by constructing its own gas pipelines, • To supply the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a substitute fuel for vehicles, • To participate in and oversee the international oil companies working in Myanmar with the production Sharing Contracts (PSCs)

CNG / NGV PROGRAMME IN MYANMAR • Initiated in Myanmar since 1986. • 1986 – August 2004 : • - 5 CNG Refueling Stations - • - 2 in Yangon City • - 2 in Yenangyaung Field • - 1 in Chauk Field • - 587 NGVs (Converted from petrol buses) • CNG / NGV Programme was reactivated in August 2004. • As at February 2009 : • - 41 CNG Refueling Stations in Myanmar- • - 36 in Yangon City • - 2 in Mandalay City • - 2 in Yenangyaung Field • - 1 in Chauk Field • - A total of 24184 NGVs (Converted) + • 1250 NGVs (imported) - 6 new Refueling Stations under construct & 4 Stations under expend - NGV conversion is in progress
