  5. Goals for Life These are more that just goals to be successful at school. These goals will help children develop into adults who are successful in the work place, in their families, in their other relationships…in LIFE!

  6. Goals for Life • I can be angry or upset and not get in trouble. • I can be okay even if others are not okay. • I can do something even if I don’t want to or is difficult.

  7. Gateway Behaviors • Gateway behaviors show a sign of disrespect. • Rolling eyes • Head down on desk • Sigh • Tapping pencil

  8. One Redirect • ICE Statement • I see you are having trouble … • Can you … • Even though …

  9. What is the Safe Seat? • The Safe Seat is a designated seat in the student’s regular classroom intended to provide a safe place where the disruptive behavior can stop and learning can continue. • The student is not in trouble. Instead, the Safe Seat provides a place to keep the student out of trouble. • A student can place him/herself in the Safe Seat or may be assigned by a teacher.

  10. Accountability • I did it. • I’m sorry. • It is a problem in my life. • I accept consequences. • I accept and need help.
