AIM FRB Briefing Mike Clifford LSO Kings Bay Submarine Learning Center November 2008
Discussion Points • Use of traditional AIM I/II LP/TG content • Top 5 AIM Change Requests (ACRs) • Electronic classroom and ILT delivery • JTA/NJA data and process • Innovations on traditional model • ILE projects and CPM/LO Module • Top 5 AIM/CPM FRM Items • Other comments
Use of Traditional AIM I/II LP/TG Content • SLC Learning Standards Manual (SLCINST 1540.1A) directs the continued use of NAVEDTRA 130/131 until updated guidance is received. • AIM I/AIM II still employed to manage and maintain curricula
Top 5 AIM Change Requests (ACRs) • If ECG's were incorporated into the AIM I program, it would ensure consistence in format and usage as well as encourage developers to explore the option of using an ECG to support their course (AIM-I-2000-004) • Structured order of RIA activities should be Display, Refer to, Reference. AIM should automatically sort the RIAs to this order (AIM-I-2000-033) • AIM I does not currently have the ability to print the TG to PDF (AIM-I-2004-006) • Add capability to update TCCD with newer info when TPP is locked after the first time (2000-511) • The user should receive a warning if he/she attempts to approve a course associated with an unapproved TPS (AIM-I-2007-005)
Electronic Classroom and ILT Delivery • SP 205 • TRANET • SUBTRANET • SECRET/NOFORN
JTA/NJA Data and Process • SLC responsible for NJA data for the following rates: MME, MMW, STS, FT, ETV, ETR, MT, EMN, ETN, MMN, MMN(ELT)
Innovations on Traditional Model • Use LP/TG Content Comparison reports to aid instructors with their curriculum modification reviews • Use AIM I TG for MTS training/practical factors • SWS Central Site AIM End User
ILE Projects and CPM/LO Module • MT Continuum • SS Acoustic Signal Recognition (SONAR) • Journeyman Fire Control Technician / Master Fire Control Technician • AN/BLQ-10 Operator/ Maintenance) • Integrated Undersea Surveillance System Sensor Operator • SCERF EHF OPERATOR/SLVR • STS ARCI MAINT • A/C&R Sim/Stim Project • Electronic Surveillance (ES) Supervisor • Submarine Electronic Computer Field • Water Space Management Course
Top 5 AIM/CPM FRM Items • Users shall be able to link one version of an IETM to a previous version of an IETM, to support reporting of an IETM change impact on LOSs. • The CPM shall have the capability to store security classification codes and restrictions to distribution codes • The AIM LO Module will have the capability to compare different versions of ILE projects with the same functionality as the LP/TG Content Comparison Report. • The LO Module shall have the capability to web service CMS data to CeTARS using a similar method to the traditional AIM functionality. • The CPM will warn a user when exiting a modified screen if they want to save their work before exiting.
Other Comments • Relational Database to track training impact of fleet equipment/reference modifications • Reconciliation of RRL items and Training Sites (68701-AIM-08-001) • Similar to deconflicting IMI graphics
