Internship Experience at The Zone Club: Facility Management and Event Coordination

I rated my internship at The Zone Club with 4 stars due to the excellent guidance from my boss in facility management. The work environment was enjoyable despite the overtime hours spent managing events in the Zone Club Room. My objectives included independently managing an event on March 21st, overseeing the suites, and aiding in facility maintenance. Daily activities involved physical labor and event setups, culminating in the successful planning and execution of the Junior Golf Dinner, showcasing my ability to coordinate with clients and vendors seamlessly.

  2. The Zone Club Rating • I rank this internship site with 4 stars. My boss did a great job of instructing me and educating me in the field of facility management. The working environment was fun and enjoyable, but I worked many overtime hours managing events that were held in the Zone Club Room. ****

  5. Internship Objectives • Overall Objective: to attain the knowledge needed to effectively manage a facility such as the Zone Club • Specific Objectives: be responsible for managing an event on March 21st by myself, manage the suites in the Zone Club, and aid in minor updates and maintenance of the facility as well.

  6. The Zone Club Daily Activities • On most days our crew would perform maintenance, moving, or other physical labor tasks. However, on event days we would set up for the event by placing tables, chairs, tablecoths, and trashcans in the club room. Every afternoon at 3:00 two guys would go move the full dumpsters around the stadium and replace them with empty ones.

  7. The Zone Club Project Description • My project this semester was to plan, organize and manage the Junior Golf Dinner. The event took place on March 21st and was a success. It took a lot of planning and coordinating with the client, caterer, and audio visual people, but I managed to run the event with no problems.
