  1. Interactive GPSCoordinate Algebra Notebook Your Key to Success in Coordinate Algebra

  2. Purpose of an Interactive Notebook The purpose of the interactive notebook is to enable students to organize, process information, and develop life-long study skills in a creative way. They are used for class notes as well as for other activities where the student will be asked to express his/her own ideas and process the information presented in class. Requirements vary from teacher to teacher and is set up according to the directions of the teacher. Some go left/right, others go right/left, and still others go sequential.

  3. EOCT Math Interactive Notebook The EOCT Math interactive notebook will be a portfolio of notes and examples as well as data on your learning and growth as you prepare to take the EOCT in May.

  4. Left Side – Right Side Orientation • The Left side is “left” for you. This is the side that you can use to show me your creativity. • The Right side is “Restricted” and contains teacher given EOCT Math examples.

  5. Left Side • The left side belongs to you. It contains your notes and examples. On this page you may include diagrams, cartoons, drawings, poems, foldables, etc. Even Pages

  8. Right Side The right side belongs to me and should only contain teacher given EOCT Math examples along with its work and/or explanation. Nothing else should be placed on this page! Odd Pages

  9. Numbering your pages • Do not number page 1 • You will begin on the second page and number that “2” in the top corner • You will number the EVEN pages 1

  10. 3 2 • Even Numbers should always be on the LEFT. Do not number RIGHT pages.

  11. Title Page • Page #1 will be the title page. • You must have: • your name • The course • Spring 2013 • Picture • Be creative and use resources in the plastic bins 1 • your name • Coordinate Algebra • Spring 2013 *Be sure to return ALL materials to your plastic bin

  12. STOP HERE • After numbering your notebook and creating your title page. Turn in your notebook in the box.

  14. Maintaining the Interactive Notebook • Neat and Creative • No ripped out pages or torn corners. • No doodling that doesn’t relate to notes. • Notebook should only be used in Math. (No other classes!!) • Number each page.
