  2. The Norwegian Centre for Sciences Education is to • develop and improve contents and methods in the teaching of natural sciences through research, experimental and development projects. The Centre is also to contribute to increased competence in and motivation for natural science among pupils and teachers and contribute to the dissemination of information and experiences • Competence, inspiration, diversity and engagement in science

  3. ”New curriculum” • The Knowledge Promotion is the latest reform in the 10-year compulsory school and in upper secondary education and training • Implementation started 2006

  4. The Budding Reseacher • This involves the formulation of hypotheses, experimentation, systematic observations, openness, discussions, critical assessment, argumentation, grounds for conclusion and presentation

  5. The Natural Schoolbag • The main goals are to develop curiosity and knowledge about nature, awareness of sustainable development and increased commitment to the environment. Projects should be based on the Knowledge Promotion 2006, both the core curriculum and subject curricula

  6. The Natural Bag will help to exploit the school community as a learning arena and use different regional and national resources. This means that it should pave the way for the voluntary organizations' expertise can be used, so that schools have added updated and necessary competences that can make learning more relevant and updated

A Joint Promotion of Mathematics, Science and Technology • The Strategic Plan A Joint Promotion of Mathematics, Science and Technology (MST) is to be an instrument for everyone who is to be part of strengthening MST in Norway • A substantial promotion of MST to meet society’s needs can only be achieved through close collaboration between all the parts involved, where both education and working life jointly contribute to increased recruitment and high competence. • A new plan for 2010-2014: MST for the future
