  2. Christ! Chrysler, WTF?! • Chrysler LLC is closing its plants for the rest of the year starting tonight, 18 Dec 2008 CE, and does not plan to reopen them until a month has passed (19 Jan 2009 CE). This is being done to cut costs, they say. • This comes at no worse time, as job seekers expect to find no work until the recession is over. • If Chrysler cannot reopen its plants, it will have to shut down its operations for good. This will mean Detroit will lose 100K jobs, but it will lose more than that. It will also lose basically its whole economy, which is based on cars.

  3. Goldman Sachs is no longer golden... • Partners at Goldman Sachs will be losing 80% of this year's bonus pay after the company has decided to withold payment of the bonuses to keep retention levels and maintain its market share in the broker employment market. • In good times, partners have traditionally made between $3m and $12m in bonuses, but in bad times, partners have to take the full hit to allow their lesser workers to remain on the job. • This year's financial crisis may come particularly hard on the partners.

  4. GoodOS in the Cloud(s) • OS maker GoodOS (http://thinkgos.org) have recently released a press statement that they are considering expanding their cloud computing capabilties and bringing forward possibly a enterprise-grade version of their famous software, touted all over the web. • GoodOS makes gOS, which can stand for "Green Operating System" or "Good Operating System" and is particularly friendly to low-eco-footprint PCs and notebooks.

  5. FIREFOX IS DANGEROUS?!?!?! • Mozilla, maker of Firefox, the browser, not the fighter jet, has released a press statement concerning the safety of its famous web browser. • There are apparently some security flaws associated with certain new features of Firefox 3.0.4 • These features have since been fixed and the computer that created this presentation used Firefox and Google Docs to create this presentation and publish on a Wordpress.com blog.

  6. Get a FREE SPACE SHUTTLE today! • Due to budget cuts and the constant need to innovate and explore space at low cost to the taxpayer, NASA has decided not to sell its stock of launch vehicles to Russia or China but to instead donate FREE SPACE SHUTTLES to various museums, educational institutions, and research facilities to help aid the development of a new reusable space vehicle. • The new vehicle is supposed to be able to sustain long-term interplanetary flight, such as that to the Jovian or Saturnian systems. • Yes, if you are a college or university, you can GET A SPACE SHUTTLE FOR FREE!
