  2. Magna Carta Great Charter June 1215 King John signed the Magna Carta This made the king subject to laws. It gave the barons a right to a proper trial.

  3. Thomas Aquinas • 7th Son of a family of a family of Italians. His family were all Benedictines. • He wanted to be a Dominican monk instead. • He ran away to study but his brothers kidnapped him and held him prisoner for 2 years. He spent that time tutoring his sisters. • He got to study the ancient Greeks and romans.   4. Jan Van Eyck • 500 years ago he was the most famous painter. • Van Eyck was the first artist to use oil paints. • He created velvety creamy colors that practically glow. • He painted just about everything, even himself.
