Introduction • A 12 week personal development course designed to raise an awareness of what it means to become an authentic woman. • A woman who has a strong self-awareness and the ability to define herself, name herself, create for herself and speak up for herself. - Kujichagulia Principle 2 of Nguzo Saba • This course uses a combination of Western Approaches to therapy, as well as African Centred Psychology in order to incorporate cultural sensitivity towards the unique differences between all women taking this course.

  3. Why take this course? • It is an affordable and accessible alternative to Counselling. • It provides the opportunity for in depth personal development, • Plus 2 one to one follow up video counselling sessions with me for emotional support. • It is a pre-recorded presentation that you can watch at your own pace. • It includes pre-recorded videos of me guiding you along your journey. • You can watch this course whenever and wherever you feel comfortable. • I encourage you to take the course at the same time each week for consistency.

Who is it for? • Have you felt that no matter how hard you try, you still do not feel connected to the true you? • Have you found it difficult to develop your own authentic thoughts, feelings, behaviours and beliefs? Do you feel yourself regurgitating what your Mother (carer or family member) says? Or emulating what is expected of you by society?

Who is it for? • If the answer is yes to any or all of these questions, then this 12 week personal development course has been specifically designed for you. • The aim of this course to raise an awareness of what it means to become an authentic woman. A woman with her own thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and identity. • Why 12 weeks? Because it takes about 12 weeks/3 month's to make lasting change in your life.

  7. 3 stages of development • Join me on a Daughter's Journey to becoming a separate woman, where we will guide you through stages of development, using a female perspective of Psychoanalyst and Paediatrician, Donald Winnicott's 3 stages of development (1943 to 1962):  • Undivided Unity: The illusion of being fully connected to the mother • Transitions: Gradual realization that the child is separate from the mother • Relative Independence: Healthy separation from mother

  8. Women in society • Many women have been unable to successfully pass through the necessary stages of development, which are reinforced by society encouraging women to remain psychologically enmeshed with others (parents and partners in particular). 

  9. Over the 12 week period, we will: • Module 1: Introduce you to Concepts, Theory and Background • Module 2: Explain Stage 1: Undivided Unity • Module 3: Explore your Emotional Triggers:  Reflexive Journalling • Module 4: Begin Discovering your True Self: Mindfulness Meditation • Module 5: Declare your Desires:  Mantras and Affirmations • Module 6: Explain Stage 2: Transitions & offer 1:1 Video Counselling

Over the 12 week period, we will: • Module 7: Learn How To Process Difficult Emotions • Module 8: Cultivate Healthy Attitudes towards Relationships • Module 9: Grant Permission to Play • Module 10: Explain Stage 3: Relative Independence • Module 11: Exercise Authority: Kujichagulia & Statement of Sovereignty • Module 12: Reflect and offer 1:1 Video Counselling

  11. For Self care during the course, you will need: • A glass or mug of your favourite drink. • To Print and bind your Reflexive Life Planner. • Some tissues nearby in case difficult feelings arise. • Your own personal journal to make notes and process your emotions. • A quiet, comfortable, warm space to take your course without interruptions. • At least 10 minutes to spare after each module to check in with yourself, or talk to friend or family member to enable you to centre yourself before continuing with your days activities. • To book your 2 video counselling sessions with me at week 6 and week 12 of your course for emotional support and after care.

  12. Course sessions are available: • Individually: £25  • Set of 12: £295 (You can pay 3 monthly instalments of £98) The FULL 12 Week Course Includes: • 2 Follow Up Video Counselling Sessions for Emotional Support (worth £90) • A FREE Reflexive Life Planner: Life at your Natural Pace
