Proposed Conduct Description 6 = Exemplifies expectations.          • Behavior improves the learning experience • Always courteous, generous, stands out in constructive ways • Genuinely concerned for the welfare of others • Constructive even in disagreements with others • Takes action to correct inappropriate situations

  7. 7= Meets expectations. • Treats people and property with respect • Punctual and prepared when class begins • Pays attention and follows instructions well • Remains in control even if excited or frustrated • Is honest, takes responsibility for his own actions and learns from his mistakes

  8. 8 = Approaches expectations, needs improvement. • Has difficulty following instructions or paying attention • Lacks punctuality, grooming, proper uniform or other requirements • Frequently restless or talks out of turn • Does not show concern or desire to help others • Does not accept responsibility for his actions, blames others for mistakes or misbehaviors

  10. Wednesday, May 2nd – First ever 8th grade Middle School Skit! • Each homeroom has maximum of 5 minutes for scene. Up to 2 homerooms can work together. • Include 6th , 7th , 8th grade happenings • Must have scene approved by Dean of Students by March 21st. • Rehearse during homeroom at your pace. • Run-through rehearsals at Roca week of April 23rd

  11. Special Lunch • Wednesday, May 2nd – • 8th grade lunch • Middle School teachers • Cosculluela during your lunch period

  12. Friday, May 4th – 8th Grade Semi-Formal • Confirm your attendance by turning in check • Semi formal attire means a sport coat and tie or a suit.

  13. Thursday, May 10th - Pin Ceremony • Send digital photographs to pinceremonypictures@belenjesuit.org by April 18th • Photographs should display group activities in class as well as extra-curricular. • Confirm your attendance with your homeroom teacher by Wednesday, April 4th • Check payable to Belen Jesuit for $40 includes student and 4 guests ($5 extra guest) • On May 10th, students report before 6:30 p.m. • Use the tickets for guests • A reception will follow the ceremony.

  14. Friday, May 11th – No classes for 8th grade students and Gradventure! • Gradventure is an event for qualifying 8th graders at Universal from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. • eligibility for participation relies on conduct approval from Dean of Students • eligible students must complete the permission slip, attach check for *$115 made payable to Belen Jesuit and turn in to Homeroom teacher by Wednesday, April 4th. • students wear Belen polo, jeans, tennis shoes and arrive at Belen at 10:30 a.m. • you may also bring iPod and pillow for the bus ride and extra money for snacks • buses return to Belen at approximately 4 a.m.

  15. Course Selection • Speak with: yourself your teacher your parents your counselor • Make choices and sign. • Turn in to your counselor on time!
