  4. New Paradigm Operating Principle • Want To vs. Have To • “Want to” grows out of love, passion and mission = generates energy • “Have to” comes from obligation disconnected from purpose = work and stress

  5. The Role of Commitment • Transformation within leading to change without requires full commitment • Change often gives rise to fear and uncertainty • Servant Leadership is about co-existing with fear and uncertainty while moving out of the existing comfort zone supported by clear mission and vision

  6. Positive Feedback Loop • Servant Leadership is both an intensely personal experience of vulnerability and stepping out of established comfort zone • …..And very public act of engaging others in Visioneering process • By meeting fear with love and openess Servant Leaders creates a enhanced sense of self esteem and broader collective vision

  7. Leadership in Action • Unwavering commitment to the Golden Rule • Strong Philanthropic basis (Greek: To Love Humankind) • Replicate themselves in spirit via mentoring • Require recipient pay it forward on basis of love and “want to”

  8. The Fruits • Individual realization of greatness within • Community with shared vision working toward collective goal • Balance between idealism and pragmatism • Conscious Awareness in action • FUN!
