Patricians – Members of Rome’s oldest and richest families. Only people who could hold public office or perform certain religious rituals. Plebians – poor roman citizens who paid taxes and served in the army. Republic - Roman government set up in 509 B.C.. People choose their rulers. Chapter 14 vocabulary
