Innovative Hybrid FPGA Design Utilizing Nanoscale Clusters and CMOS Routing for Enhanced Performance
This paper presents a novel hybrid FPGA architecture integrating nanoscale clusters with CMOS routing to address the limitations of traditional CMOS technology in scaling. The proposed architecture leverages nanowire-based crossbars to create logic clusters that significantly reduce area—reporting up to a 75% reduction compared to CMOS FPGAs—while providing similar functionality. Experimental evaluations reveal insights into the efficiency and performance trade-offs of hybrid CMOS-nanoscale designs, setting a pathway towards future advancements in FPGA technology and the integration of nanotechnology.
