  1. W(enu)+jets - Event Selection- Cut flow for data and some MCs August 25, 2010 Takayasu Hayashi

  2. Introduction • W( enu, munu)+jets cross section • SM W + jets cross section subgroup • At first, cut flow for • Sherpa Wenu sample • Other MCs & Datas • Detector unfolding • New generator MCFM etc. : k-factor Today • Event selection • Cut flow for • periodA, • AlpgenWenu, `PythiWenu • AlpgenWtaunu, PowHegTTbar_Pythia

  3. Event Selection • Good Run List (GRL) for Wenu + jets • >=1 Primary Vertex with >=3 tracks & |Zvtx| < 150 mm • Trigger : L1_EM14 • Electron Author = 1 or 3 • Electron Eta_cluster > • Electron ET_cluster > 20 GeV • MET Clean • no AntiKt4TopoJet with pT(EM Scale)> 10 GeV satisfies : • ( n90 <=5 and fHEC>0.8 ) or • fabs(jetTime)>50 or • ( fabs(JetQuality)>0.8 AND emf>0.95 ) • OTX Clean (electron) • Electron robustTight == 1 • Electron robustMedium ==1 (Z-veto) • MET > 25 GeV (MET_LocHacTopo) • WMT > 40 GeV

  4. ∫L = 315.4 nb-1( periodA to D ) ✓ ✓ ✓

  5. ∫L = 0.39 nb-1( periodA )

  6. Summary and To Do • Cuts ? • Reconstruction algorithms • Include all data • periodA to E : 1165 pb-1 • Electron - Jet overlap removal • MC • generator comparison • k-factor with Sherpa or MCFM • with pileup sample • Data - MC • QCD normalization • scale factor • with pileup sample
