  1. Expectations • Education is a partnership. A child needs the attention of the parents as well as the teacher. • Keep up to date with your child’s: • Lunch account • Label the lunch money with your child’s name and the amount. • Library Books • Books and Beyond reading program • Communication folders • Make sure to initial your child’s folder each day.

  2. Pre-K is your child’s job this year. • Make sure he/she is: • to work on time. • Dressed for PE in Tennis shoes and shorts under the dresses or skirts. • Has a good nights sleep. • Has a good breakfast. • Leaves home with a great and excited attitude. • Prepared for the day ahead. • Your child needs a backpack, folder, and snack each day.

  3. Behavior • Continue to talk with your child about good school behavior. • Remember to discuss and reinforce “safe” choices and actions at school with your child.

  4. ExpectationsWhat will my child be learning in Pre-K this year? • Letter and number recognition • Letter sound recognition • Developing writing skills • Simple addition and subtraction • Rote counting • One to one correspondence • Socialization skills • Context of print • Phonemic awareness • Syllabication • Onset rime • Alliteration • Words in a sentence

  5. Testing • MCLASS testing will be held during the beginning, middle, and end of year. • MCLASS results can be discussed during parent conferences. • My conference time: Monday – Friday 12:25 – 1:15 p.m. • Email: davisre@ccisd.com • Please feel free to contact me with any question or concern regarding your child.

  6. Attendance • Tardy bell rings at 7:55 am. • After 9:30 a.m. your child is considered absent. • Transfers can be revoked for students that have 10 or more absences. • Transfers will be revoked for students that have 4 or more unexcused absences. • Call in when your child is absent and send a note as soon as the child returns to school. • Nurse cannot give medication unless in a prescription bottle. • Please do not send a sick child to school.

  7. Snack • Please make sure your child brings a snack to school everyday with their name on it. • 1 food item • 1 drink

  8. Bathroom • Please make sure your child has a change of clothes in a zip lock baggie with your child’s name on it. Please write your child’s name on each article of clothing. • Bathroom issues: Parents will be called to help with severe bathroom accidents. Students will be required to change their own clothing and clean themselves after bathroom accidents with teacher/paraprofessional supervision.

  9. Dismissal • Dismissal time is 2:55 p.m. Please be on time to pick up your child. -Your child can be picked up in the Parson’s office after 3:05 p.m. • Please contact the office if your child’s normal pick up person/schedule has changed. The office will contact me. • Early dismissal: 12:55 p.m.
