Overall Project Objectives • To provide European industry with rapid and easy access to thermal knowledge, via a dedicated website, in order to increase the skill level of its technical staff and improve products and processes • To set up a self-supporting legal entity that will ensure continued dissemination of thermal knowledge to industry beyond completion of the EU project

The evitherm website will provide … • authoritative thermal data on materials properties • access to thermal experts • innovative solutions for industrial problems • guidance on good thermal measurement practice • information on new measurement techniques for industry • a forum whereby users can interact to share ideas and collaborate on research or exploitation opportunities

Key Objectives in the first 18 months • Gain effective representation of industry and create a forum to define industry sectors & regions and their thermal needs (WP1 & WP3) • Define the technical content of evitherm website and compile technical information/data for key thermal areas (WPs 4 - 9) • Create evitherm website and upload information/data generated by WPs 4 - 9 onto website for review and then release to users (WP2) • Develop and implement a promotional plan for evitherm (WP2) • Manage the formation of an evitherm legal entity (WP1)

Key Achievements in the first 18 months WP1 – Coordinate project and set up evitherm as a business • Principal Contractors, Project Management & Project IPR agreements and Data Policy document • Standard data entry template for use by all technical WPs • Agreement that the evitherm legal entity (ELE) will be established as ‘The evitherm Society’ and set up as an English-law based not-for-profit ‘Company Limited by Guarantee’ • Draft Constitution, Articles and Memorandum of Association and business plan for ELE

Key Achievements in first 18 months WP2 – Develop and promote evitherm • Interim project website set up to gather information on industry’s thermal technology requirements. 101 ‘Give your Views’ questionnaires and 163 ‘Registrations of Interest’ generated and used by WP3 to help develop list of industry sectors vs. thermal needs • Promotional plan produced. Active support provided by members of all WPs in promoting evitherm project via weblinks, press notices, presentations at conferences etc. • First evitherm ‘E-Newsletter’ produced • First version of evitherm website produced and first set of information from WPs 4 - 9 uploaded. Testing of website functionality/user interface and editing of content underway

Key Achievements in the first 18 months WP3 – Enable evitherm to meet industry needs • 8 new industry members recruited to project in WPs 1,2,3,4,6 contributing to development of industry sector needs list • List of industry sectors vs. thermal metrology needs produced • Industry Sector and Regional coordinators set up

  10. Key Achievements in the first 18 months WPs 4-9 – Generation of technical content for evitherm • Summary reports on the proposed contribution of WPs 4 – 9 produced (on interim project website) • More than 2,400 thermal technical information entries assembled for the website using specially developed evitherm data templates
