Groom is a town in Carson County, Texas, United States. There is a 19-story cross located next to Interstate 40 just northwest of the town limits. This 190-foot-tall (58 m) free-standing cross can be seen from 20 miles (32 km) away.

One of the World’s largest Christian Cross's stands proudly, surrounded by stunning larger than life sculptures featuring Jesus Christ. The Cross Ministries, sculptures are located near Groom, in Texas. Arranged in a circle around the base of the giant Christian Cross, are over life-size bronze sculptures of Jesus of Nazareth & the Stations of the Cross. Outside that inner circle, there is another circle of sculptures that features other landmark Christian scenes, and characters: Saint Michael the Archangel, The Crucifixion, The Empty Tomb, Last Supper, and of Course Jesus of Nazareth. This cross is the result of the efforts of Steve Thomas and family of Pampa, Texas. It took 250 welders eight months to complete, and weighs 1,250 tons. It stands alone, unsupported by guy wires, and can withstand winds of 140 miles per hour It is constructed of a welded steel framework covered with steel sheeting
The Groom Cross is fast becoming a roadside pilgrimage site with the number of travelers visiting the site increasing exponentially. The Stations of the Cross and the statues of the second cercle were just completed and feature life-sized sculptures of the events leading to Christ's crucifixion. The artist is Mickey Wells
It has been estimated that 10 million people pass annually by Interstate 40 (what used to be the historic Route 66) and several hundred people stop by each day. Many of those are repeat visitors
