On June 18, 2009, the Advisory Committee for the Ramona Unified School District reviewed surplus real property as mandated by Education Code 17388. The committee's task was to analyze surplus properties and gather public input. A total of 13.7 acres located behind Ramona High School were noted as unusable, leading to recommendations for their sale to a vernal pool mitigation bank. The governing board will decide the final disposition of this property, which also faces development mitigation requirements.
