About Me… • Undergraduate from University of NC at Charlotte • Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration at Western Washington
My Goals • Offer challenging curriculum that is interesting and engaging • Help students build personal responsibility and independence • Support students’ development of critical thinking and cooperative learning skills • Provide support to students and families so every student can be successful and enjoy the year

Infraction Steps • Behavior Clips (affect MCNET TIME) -For the beginning of the year, they are trying to get less than 4 per week -Clips are given for multiple reminders of behaviors, disrepect, reports from specialists, etc.. -It is the KIDDOS responsibility to detail it in their planner and have me sign in the afternoon!
Homework - Written in planners • 30 minutes nightly reading This is what you give a signature in the planner for! • Nightly STUDY LINKS from MATH • IXL- This is time spent …NOT mastering! (*Detail about IXL) • Homework assignments will ALWAYS be written in their planners • Friday Folders—Signatures! (example)

Long Term Projects • Fall: Map of a mythical island • Winter: Science Fair Experiment • Spring: Space Research Project – “Feature article” Note: all fourth graders will do the same projects, but due dates and little details will differ.
How to stay informed • Super Eagle Notebooks • All tests and graded essays/stories • Sent home about once a month • Goal Checks (science math, and reading) • Sent home immediately with signature requirement
Report Cards and GRADES • 1st Trimester: November • 2nd Trimester: March • 3rd Trimester: June 4 consistently exceeds grade level expectations 3 consistently meets grade level expectations 2 inconsistently meets expectations 1 consistently does not meeting expectations, even with extra assistance/modifications
What earns a four…. Performing at a fifth grade level on fourth grade assignments TWO things must be true • CONSISTENTLY performing well above expectations • Independently performing above expectations
What does not signify a four • Turning in homework on time each day (this is the fourth grade expectation) • Going above and beyond WITH an adult’s help • Going above and beyond independently on a couple of assignments
Conferences • December 4th and 5th • Sign up on the back table • Student lead conferences with parents – AMAZINGINGLY productive
MSP • Fourth grade is the first time you see writing tested on the MSP! • It’s an all-day test, and goes through the entire writing process from pre-write to publish • We prepare ALL year for this by doing this same process in-class on a regular basis.
Field Trips • Washington State Capitol in Olympia (hopefully!) • Nature Vision Watershed workshops • Planetarium
Fun Friday/MCNET time/Birthdays • Fun Friday is from 3:20-3:40 with the entire 4th grade and is based on HW and CW being finished • MCNET time is from 3:00 to 3:20 and is based on BEHAVIOR • Birthdays are celebrated every last Wednesday of the month during lunch with 4th grade teachers Summer birthdays get to choose their month
