Strategie • UKB strategie 2011 – 2015 ‘Alle wetenschappelijke bibliotheken op weg naar de Cloud’ • ‘Samenwerking blijft voor bibliotheken een cruciaal instrument voor een betrouwbare en optimale dienstverlening’ • ‘Wereldwijd geleverde diensten en het wereldwijd optreden van leveranciers vragen van bibliotheken schaalvergroting’ • ‘Deelnemen in en aansluiten bij een internationale informatie infrastructuur. Modernisering hiervan en aansluiting op een internationale context’

  7. Bouwstenen UKB • WorldShare Platform (pakket A) • 1. Als start: catalogiseren naar keuze in GGC of WorldCat • 2. Overgang van IBL van NCC/IBL naar WorldShare ILL • 3. NCC (inclusief OB collecties) als virtuele collectie in WorldCat • 4. ‘Roadmap’ met landelijke GII naar internationale infrastructuur • 5. Open standaarden (aansluiting andere systemen) • WorldShare Management Services (pakket B) • 6. Link Resolver (koppeling knowledge base) • 7. Discovery via WorldCat Local • 8. Licentie management • 9. Geïntegreerd acquisitie management • 10. Koppeling met identity management

  9. Proces • Onderhandelingsteam • serie besprekingen met team van OCLC • inhoudelijk, financieel • UKB werkgroep Roadmap GII • inventarisatie bij alle UKB leden • bespreking met vertegenwoordigers UKB leden • advisering UKB en onderhandelingsteam

Resultaat • WorldShare Platform • Overeenstemming over vervanging GGC en NCC/IBL door het WorldShare Platform • Alle universiteitsbibliotheken beginnen vanaf 2014 met metadata management op het platform, KB volgt later • Trainingen (MARC21 & RDA: SLIM project, Platform clients) • Synchronisatie met SFX • Koppelen Discovery omgevingen met WorldShare ILL • UKB leden gaan gecoördineerd en ongeveer tegelijkertijd over van NCC/IBL naar WorldShare ILL • Gateway tussen VDX (OB) en WorldShare ILL (indien nog nodig)

Resultaat • WorldShare Applications • verschillen in standpunten, in uitgangssituaties en in tijdlijnen • splitsing in Discovery en Backoffice Applications bleek wenselijk maar: • WorldShare Applications vervangen lokale systemen • en (Europese) aanbesteding per bibliotheek • Overgangssituatie • implementatieproject • tijdens project overgang van huidige naar nieuwe situatie
