  1. Child War • Kayla Casey • World Problems

  2. “In the sky there are always answers and explanations for everything; every pain, every suffering, joy and confusion.”- IshmealBeah Pg. 166Any time you look into the sky, you’re always thinking. You then turn around and make a decision, no matter what. This quote is a perfect example of them looking for an answer.

  3. Which one would you prefer? This ? Or This? Or this? • Is this a child soldier?

  4. Child Soldiers: Anyone under the age of eighteen who is part of any kind of regular armed force or armed group in any capacity. I call these soldiers “Toy Soldiers” http://www.planusa.org/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/2147 What are Child Soldiers?

  5. Child Soldiers In Sierra Leone These kids were used to help cook, serve in the army, fight in the front line and help “protect” their village..

  6. WhereareChildSoldiersStill Used? Are child soldiers still used today? Africa, Asia, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East Timor Burundi, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Liberia.

  7. Approximately 300,000 child soldiers fighting. • Used because they’re easily manipulated. • Girl soldiers often used as domestic sex slaves. • These soldiers are still used in 20+ countries.

  8. Let’s Talk NGOs These Non-Profit organizations is an association that operates independently of government. They help for a specific cause or reason.

  9. Invisible Children is a NGO. They are a movement to end the conflict and bring the children home. They want to rebuild schools, educate future leaders, and provide jobs in Northern Uganda. Anything being funded will directly protect local communities and make rehabilitation accessible to children formerly abducted.

  10. UN Declaration : What’s Being Violated?

  11. These kids no longer had a voice when they entered into the war. Their rights and everything else was taken from them. They had no dignity to them selves. They did whatever was told to them and followed through with it. The chief told them to kill, they killed. These kids were no longer kids they were brain washed and became a killer. The war turned their lives into a tornado. They were toy soldiers as I would call them.
