  1. Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope GLAST LAT System Engineering System Checkout Test Test Objectives & Plans Rich Baun, Pat Hascall rbaun@slac.stanford.edu (650) 926-3520 hascallp@slac.stanford.edu (650) 926-4266

  2. System Engineering Deliverables • Performance and Operations Test Plan • Current status • Tests through integration of 16 towers and ACD are detailed • Integration of 3rd layer boxes and full LAT acceptance test definitions in work • Plan forward results in the Performance and Operations Test Plan to go into signature by the end of October with sufficient detail to cover all testing to be performed at SLAC prior to shipment to NRL • T&C Data base inputs include limits and conversion coefficients. • Excel sheet to go into LATDocs signoff by end of week • I&T will use this info first for near term testing • Process in work to feed back these limits and conversion coefficients back into the T&C data base in a way that does not involve or affect FSW

  3. Plan Forward • Team identified for a near term effort to scrub the test definitions and provide info to complete the P&OTP for pre-environmental test needs • First meeting tomorrow • Verification matrix completed with preliminary verification description for all items • Verification items requiring test or demonstration mapped to test cases (including redundancy combinations) • First scrub completed and questions defined • Will separate into subteams to discuss groups of verifications and how they fit into tests • Goal is to minimize the number of test cases • Goal is to use subsystem verification where possible to minimize detailed testing at the LAT level • Rich Baun will recombine team inputs into the P&OTP • Remainder of the P&OTP updates to cover (for example) thermal control system testing during TV will follow

  4. Problems/Issues • Clearly we need help from the team (Neil, Hiro, Eric Grove, Dave Thompson, JJ, Mike Huffer (or alternate), Lester, Eduardo, Steve and Dick) to use the combined expertise to develop an efficient test program • T&DF and FSW are areas that we need the most support • To ensure that we have the right set of tests based on the way the LAT operates • To ensure that we can show the customer that we are compliant with our specifications (may require spec updates)
