Comprehensive Guide to Major Motorcycle Parts and Their Functions

This analysis delves into the critical components of motorcycles, detailing parts such as the engine, clutch, gearbox, fuel tank, carburettor, brakes, and suspension. Learn about the functions of each component, from how the fuel tank stores fuel (typically 12-15 liters), to the operation of the clutch and gearbox for proper torque transmission. Explore the roles of the fuel control valve which connects the fuel tank and carburettor, and understand the significance of the engine's design, including two-stroke and four-stroke classifications.

  1. Motor Bike Analysis

  2. Major parts • Engine,clutch,flywheel,gear box. • Brakes,suspension,shock absorber. • Carburettor,speedometer,battery. • Headlamp,indicatorlight,rear view mirror.

  3. Identify the name of part!!!!

  4. This is used to store the fuel in two wheeler. • Its capacity is generally between 12 to 15 liters.

  5. FUEL TANK

  6. This is the valve. • This valve has 3 positions: ON,OFF,RESERVE. • location is between fuel tank and carburettor.

  7. FUEL CONTROL VALVE

  8. Position of valve

  9. Function is to mix the air and fuel in proper amount and deliver to the engine. • Location is between fuel tank and engine.

  10. CARBURETTOR

  11. Image of carburettor

  12. It is power producing unit. • It consist of piston, cylinder, piston ring, crank, connecting rod, spark plug. • It is classified as two stroke, fourstroke, internalcombustion, external combustion. • Size is given in the term of cc.

  13. ENGINE

  14. Image of internal combusion engine.

  15. Function of this is desirable when the gear are to be shifted. • This will permit the engine to run without driving the vehicle. • It has two position during its working and these are engaged position and disengaged position.

  16. CLUTCH • This is mechanical device which is used to connect or disconnect the source of power from the remaining parts of the power transmission at the will of operator.

  17. Image of clutch

  18. This varies the torque ratio between the engine and road wheel. • This provides neutral position so that engine is running and road wheel are stationary even with the clutch is in engaged position.

  19. GEAR BOX
