Technology itself, enables dynamic media like audio, video and interactive software to be more readily exploited, allows students to collaborate in ways that were previously impossible and provides tools to increase teacher productivity”

As Wayne Morren, principal ofFloridaHigh School noted recently:\ Teaching and learning in the 21stCentury can no longer be a traditional experience of “sit and get.”[5]Teachers as well as students must strive to creatively employ technology tools to access, evaluate, synthesize and communicate information. Only by engaging in this active process can “information” from the Internet be translated into “knowledge” in the minds of learners. Classroom teachers can leverage the potential of disruptive technologies like Skype, weblogs, podcasts, or one to one technology immersion initiatives to increase student motivation to communicate with authentic audiences, spend more time on assigned tasks, and develop essential literacy skills needed for vocational and lifetime success in the twenty-first century. Translated, this means increasing student achievement, while simultaneously encouraging students as well as teachers to engage in worthwhile and creative tasks.   23. Summary The use of technology in education is a shift from mere passive-recipient students to active and participative learner. Like the use of technology transform authority expert to facilitators. The integration of technology in education enables dynamic media like audio, video and interactive software allows the student for purposes in Engagement, Empowerment, Access to Information & Communication, School-Home Connection, Differentiation, Transparency, Efficiency, Cooperative Grouping and Collaboration. Archiving, Preparation for College & Career, Reflection of Current Practice, Problem-solving &Project-Based Learning. And the purposes of the use of technology in the classroom are Motivating students, Contributing to understanding, Providing varied learning experiences, Reinforcing learning, Allowing for different interests, Encouraging participation, Providing experiences that might not be had and Changing attitudes and feelings.
