  3. Why bother with Health and safety? To keep yourself, others and spaces safe To reduce the amount of physical and mental stress To reduce injury and accident To get the most out of yours and others experiences

  4. Is Health and Safety a legal requirement? 1….2….3…. Discuss!

  5. Is Health and Safety a legal requirement? HASAWA – Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 – overall legislation that contains the following regulations: CDM – Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 CONAW – Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 RIDDOR– Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations, 2013 COSHH – Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 EAW– Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 LOLER– Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 PUWER  – Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 WAH– Work at Height Regulations 2005

  8. What is expected of you to do and wear before/during and after a rehearsal? Create a character that demonstrates the worst use of clothing and behavior during and after a class. Use the gingerbread outline and pens provided to create them as detailed as possible! 5 MINUTES TO BRING YOUR POOR PERFORMER TO LIFE!

  9. THE SPACE! What type of space’s are you likely to work within? Who’s responsibility is it to keep your space safe? What are some of the main hazards in a space? LOOK AROUND THE SPACE AND TRY AND FIND AS MANY HAZARDS AS YOU CAN…GO!

  10. Others Who even counts as “others” to JOT ENSEMBLE? Why do we need to keep them safe? How do we keep them safe?

  11. Task 1 for project 1! In order to confirm your place as a company member of JOT Ensemble you will need to show your professionalism and dedication to performance and staying safe. Today you will need to complete your performers code of conduct and state a minimum of 5 different ways you will keep, yourself, the space and others safe!

  12. Where to find the assignment task… • Go to the VLE • Select the project 1 • Select the assignment tab • Go to the first Assignment 1 tab and download the performers code of conduct sheet. • COMPLETE ALL ELEMENTS OF THE WORK!

  13. ASSESSMENT DEADLINE You must submit to the VLE your electronic work to the VLE dropbox by 09/09/2019 You must email work to bfarrow@camre.ac.uk if you cannot submit on the VLE.
