Using Scratch to Promote Constructivist Learning Opportunities with Fifth Class in a DEIS Band 1 School. • Introduction • What is Scratch? • Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art. • Aims of this Research • To increase Constructivist learning opportunities. • To enable pupils become creators of digital content. • To encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own learning. • To provide opportunities for Collaborative Learning. • To engage and motivate pupils by making learning fun. • How Scratch was implemented? • 10 scratch lessons available from www.scratch.ie • A Scratch Day was held in November. • Pupils worked on personally meaningful projects in groups to present on Scratch Day.
