Danielle Garcia’s thought-provoking commentary addresses the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks and the ensuing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. With over 1.3 trillion dollars spent and more lives lost than on 9/11, she questions the rationale behind continued military engagement. Garcia argues that the significant resources and lives sacrificed warrant a reassessment of our priorities. She advocates for a shift from warfare to peace-building efforts, emphasizing the urgent need to foster international cooperation rather than prolonging conflict.

9/11 Impacting AmericaWhen the 9/11 attack HAPPENED we went into war. We went to start a war in iraq and Afghanistan. However we have lost more people In the war then the people who died in 9/11. So why are we still in war? Losing so many more lives?
A big waste of supplies • While we are the war we are wasting a lot of money. In the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War we have spent more than $1.3 trillion. We also have wasted a lot of ammunition in the wars. We are losing a lot of people. What’s the point of fighting anymore? I think that we already proved our point. So why are we still fighting? How about we stop fighting and we start making peace between countries.
