  3. Black Sox (1921) • The biggest game in baseball is the World Series and the Black Sox did the unthinkable. They where caught trying to throw the World Series. This was believed to happen because back then the players where never paid a fraction of what they were worth. If you refused the contract however, you couldn’t sign with any other baseball team. So with the star players getting paid barely nothing, it is said to believe that the players threw the World Series game to make money from big time gamblers. (Linder 2010)
