Purpose of Study Given the practical capacities of the existing schools and in light of future enrollment projections, is it feasible to reduce the number of operating school buildings and continue to maintain the quality of the educational program? If so, how might the buildings best be utilized and what might the fiscal implications be? If not, what building modifications, if any, should be made, and why? Is it feasible to relocate district office functions to another school building? If so, what are the options for their relocation? Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants

  4. The School/Community Advisory Committee • Members represent a broad spectrum of the community • Superintendent serves as a resource to the committee • Function is to advise the consultants, communicate with the public, and prepare informative materials Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants

Expectations of Committee Members • Attend all committee meetings • Freely express their points of view • Be a key communicator with stakeholder groups • Be respectful of the committee and and the study process • Be a positive contributing member in other related committee activities Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants

The Consultants • Bring an outside, unbiased perspective • Have no local stake in the outcome • Will conduct the study in a fair manner • Will ensure that the process is open • Will produce meeting notes after each committee meeting • Will be responsible for the final report Castallo & Silky-Education Consultants

Recommendations in the Report • Will benefit student learning • Will be sensitive to the unique cultural context of the school district • Will be independent of special interest groups • Will be educationally sound • Will be fiscally responsible and realistic • Will present a plan for building use for the next five years+.
